Executive Director

Job Description

Lead short and long range planning in collaboration with Trustees/Staff; Implement operating procedures consistent with best practices; Oversee supervision of personnel, including work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, motivate peak productivity and performance. Develop annual operating budget including managing all aspects of finances. Must be familiar with taxing district laws. Compile statistical data for annual state report. Oversee development of collections in all media. Oversee integration of current technologies. Foster local, state, regional partnerships and collaboration.

Job Requirements

Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS,MLIS) from an ALA accredited school of library science preferred.

Minimum of (5) years progressively responsible management experience. Ability to prepare and manage budgets. Proficiency in current technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Overdrive and databases. Demonstrated knowledge of policies and techniques of sound public library management. Commitment to full implementation of principles of public library service as set forth by the ALA. Commitment to serving multi-cultural communities, experience with Latino and African American community desirable.
